In a nutshell:  YES. The Australia/NZS 1337.1:2010 standard is rated "Low energy medium impact" equivalent to the European Standard  CE EN166.
These ratings offer low - medium impact resistance with a minimal requirement  to resist the impact of a 1/4" steel ball at 150-300 feet per second.
The American Standard  ANSI Z87.1-2003 is rated as High Impact. 
HOWEVER  Military Ballistic Standard MIL-PRF-31013  test  produces approximately 7 times more impact energy than the ANSI Z87.1 standard. 
MIL-PRF-31013 is tested to withstand a 0.15 calibre, 58grain, T37 shaped projectile at 640-660 feet per second.​
