This is an exact replica of well known rifle Lee Enfield Mk III SMLE. It was a bolt-action, magazine-fed, repeating rifle used by the military forces of the British Empire and Commonwealth used in this version since 1907. In service in both the First and Second World Wars. Although officially replaced in the UK with the L1A1 in 1957, it remained in widespread British service until the early 1960s. Over 17 million of Lee Enfield’s were built.
Specifications:
The Lee-Enfield rifle was derived from the earlier Lee-Metford, a mechanically similar black-powder rifle, which combined James Paris Lee's rear-locking bolt system with a barrel featuring rifling designed by William Ellis Metford. It featured a ten-round box magazine which was loaded with the .303 British cartridge. The necessity of reloading the bullet after the shot made this weapon relatively slow. However, its slowness is recompensed by its power. The small caliber (7.7 mm) ammo was very long (56 mm) and the weapon has high muzzle velocity gained 744 m/s got effective fire range 503 meters. It was especially effective at a middle distances.
This replica was made of wood and metal parts of alloy (zinc and aluminum).
